For hundreds of years guilding
has served imitating metal surfaces. There are many kinds
of metal leaf available, ranging from aluminum to imitation
gold, real gold, silver, copper, platinum and many other natural
or artificially colored. They are applied either in water
or oil based techniques. Patinas and distressing techniques
may be easily applied to achieve aged look. |
